The Seven Bows

O God, be merciful to me, a sinner. (Bow)

O God, cleanse me, a sinner, and have mercy on me. (Bow)

My sovereign, most holy Mother of God, save me, a sinner, (Bow)

O Angel, my holy Guardian, protect me from all evil. (Bow)

The Jesus Prayer

O Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.

Prayer Before Consuming Prosphora and Holy Water

O Lord my God, may Thy holy gift and Thy holy water be unto the enlightenment of my mind, unto the strengthening of my spiritual and physical powers, unto the health of my soul and body, unto the taming of my passions and weaknesses, according to Thy limitless mercy, through the prayers of Thy Most-pure Mother and of all Thy Saints. Amen.

Upon Entering The Holy Temple

Thou has created me, O Lord, have mercy.

God be merciful to me, a sinner.

Countless times have I sinned, O Lord, forgive me.

Before the Beginning of Any Work

O Lord, bless.

Or

O Lord Jesus Christ, Only-begotten Son of Thine unoriginate Father, Thou hast said with Thy most pure lips: For without Me, ye can do nothing. My Lord, O Lord, in faith having embraced Thy words, I fall down before Thy goodness; help me, a sinner, to complete through Thee Thyself this work which I am about to begin, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. After the Completion of Any Work

Glory to Thee, O Lord.

Thou art the fullness of all good things, O my Christ; fill my soul with joy and gladness, and save me, for Thou alone art plenteous in mercy.

Prayer Before Lessons

Tone 6: O Heavenly King, Comforter, Spirit of Truth, Who art everywhere present and fillest all things, Treasury of good things and Giver of Life, come and dwell in us, and cleanse us of all impurity, and save our souls, O Good One.

Or

Tone 6: O Most-good Lord! Send down upon us the grace of Thy Holy Spirit, Who granteth gifts and strengtheneth the powers of our souls, so that by attending to the teaching given us, we may grow to the glory of Thee, our Creator, to the comfort of our parents, and to the service of the Church and our native land.

Prayer After Lessons

Tone 8: It is truly meet to bless thee, the Theotokos, ever-blessed and most blameless and Mother of our God. More honourable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, who without corruption gavest birth to God the Word, the very Theotokos, thee do we magnify.

Or

Tone 8: We thank Thee, O Creator, that Thou hast vouchsafed us Thy grace to attend instruction. Bless our leaders, parents, and instructors, who are leading us to an awareness of good, and grant us power and strength to continue this study.

Prayer Before Meals

Our Father, Who art in the heavens, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

Or

Tone 8: The eyes of all look to Thee, O Lord, with hope, and Thou givest them their food in due season. Thou openest Thy hand and fillest every living thing with Thy favour.

Prayer After Meals

Tone 8: We Thank Thee, O Christ Our God, that Thou hast satisfied us with Thine earthly gifts; deprive us not of Thy heavenly kingdom, but as Thou camest among Thy disciples, O Saviour, and gavest them peace, come to us and save us.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, both now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
